Acts 15 – The Jerusalem Council Settles Law vs Grace | KJV
“But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.”
— Acts 15:11 KJVActs 15 convened to settle the defining question: must Gentile believers keep the Mosaic Law for salvation? Peter stood and declared — we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, even as they. No distinction. No Law addition. Grace won.
The Council's decision — Acts 15:19-20 — imposed only minimal practical restrictions for Jewish-Gentile fellowship. The Law as a means of salvation was decisively and permanently rejected at Jerusalem. Paul then settles it eternally in his epistles.
Grace won at Jerusalem in AD 50. Grace wins today. Anytime someone adds a law-condition to salvation, Acts 15 and Galatians answer: grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone.
