Acts – A Transition Book, Not the Church's Rulebook | KJV Right Division
“And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”
— Acts 1:7 KJVThe book of Acts records a transition — from Israel's Kingdom program to the mystery of the Body of Christ through Paul. It is not a normative pattern for the Church age. Taking Acts as the Church's manual leads to chasing sign gifts and demanding tongues as evidence of the Spirit.
Read Acts for history and inspiration. Live by Paul's epistles — Romans through Philemon — for doctrine and practice. The transition in Acts is descriptive of what happened; Paul's letters are prescriptive of what we believe and how we live.
Your Christian life is not modeled on Acts 2 — it is modeled on Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. Paul is your apostle. His epistles are your operating instructions. Live accordingly.
