Circumcision – Sign of the Covenant or Set Aside? | Galatians 5:6 KJV
“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.”
— Galatians 5:6 KJVCircumcision was the sign of Israel's covenant — Genesis 17:11. Jewish believers in Acts 15 insisted Gentiles must be circumcised to be saved. Paul calls this false gospel and opposes it throughout Galatians with an urgency that matches the stakes.
In Christ, circumcision means nothing and uncircumcision means nothing — what matters is faith working by love. Romans 2:28-29 — true circumcision is inward, spiritual, by grace. The reality is in the heart, not the flesh.
You are not required to observe any outward sign of the Old Covenant. Your sign is the indwelling Spirit — 2 Corinthians 1:22. Trust the inward reality over outward ritual every time.
