Colossians 2:14 – The Debt Nailed to the Cross | KJV Right Division

Week 2 · Day 9-3 · 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.”

— Colossians 2:14 KJV

The handwriting of ordinances — the written record of every Law you failed to keep — was a certificate of debt against you. Every commandment broken added to the record. Christ took that entire certificate, nailed it to His cross, and cancelled it completely. The debt is paid.

✂ Right Division

This is why Colossians 2:16 follows immediately: Let no man judge you in meat, drink, holyday, new moon, or sabbath days. These ordinances no longer hold legal claim over you. They were nailed with Christ. The record is cleared.

✦ Application

No law, no ordinance, no religious calendar holds any debt over you. Christ cancelled the certificate. Live in that freedom — not to indulge, but to serve God freely from a heart of gratitude rather than a ledger of fear.
