Post #101: Paul's Thorn and God's Grace (2 Cor 12:9) | KJV Right Division (Week 4)
Post 101 · Paul's Doxologies – Worship in the Epistles (Rom 11:33-36)
"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." — Romans 11:33-36 (KJV)
Dispensation: Grace Age — Paul's epistles are punctuated by eruptions of praise; doctrine leads to doxology in Grace-Age theology.
Key: Of him, through him, and to him = God is the SOURCE, SUSTAINER, and GOAL of all things. No one gives first; no one counsels Him. He is the all-sufficient One.
Paul cannot finish Romans 9-11 — the most difficult section of Scripture, dealing with God's sovereignty in Israel's election, hardening, and future restoration — without erupting in worship. This is the hallmark of genuine Grace-Age theology: it ends in doxology, not just information. The depth of God's wisdom and knowledge makes human judgment feel shallow. His ways are 'past finding out' — traceable enough to trust, deep enough to worship. 'Of him, through him, and to him, are all things' is perhaps the most comprehensive theological statement in Scripture: God is the source (Creator), the sustainer (Providence), and the goal (Glory) of all existence. To Him alone be glory. This is where right doctrine leads — not to pride but to praise.
