Post #105: Philippians 3:17 – Mark Those Who Walk So | KJV Right Division (Week 4)
Post 105 · Completing the Word of God (Col 1:25)
"Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God." — Colossians 1:25 (KJV)
Dispensation: Grace Age — Paul's epistles complete the Canon; the mystery hidden from all ages was the missing piece that Paul's revelation supplied.
Key: "Fulfil the word of God" = πληρόω — to fill up, to complete, to bring to fullness. Paul's revelation of the mystery COMPLETED the Word of God.
Colossians 1:25 is one of the most remarkable apostolic claims in Scripture. Paul says he was made a minister 'to fulfil (complete) the Word of God.' This means that without Paul's revelation, the Bible was incomplete. The mystery — Jew and Gentile in one Body, Christ in you, the grace dispensation — was the missing piece that no previous prophet or apostle had received or written. The Old Testament prophets gave us creation, the covenants, the Law, Israel's history, and prophecy. The Gospels gave us Christ's earthly ministry. Acts recorded the transition. But the full revelation of the mystery — the Body of Christ's identity, calling, and destiny — came through Paul alone. His 13 letters complete the revealed counsel of God. Without them, we would not fully understand who we are, where we came from, how we are saved, or where we are going.
