Post #115: Ephesians 4:22-24 – Put Off the Old Man | KJV Right Division (Week 5)
Post 115 · Day 29-3: Galatians 5:16-17 – Walking in the Spirit vs Flesh
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." — Galatians 5:16-17 (KJV)
Who? Galatian believers tempted to return to law-keeping.
Dispensation: Grace Age — the Spirit, not the law, is the believer's governing principle.
Key Truth: Spirit-walking is the only answer to flesh-lusting — not willpower or rules.

Paul's remedy for the flesh is not a stricter law but a fuller Spirit. The Galatians were being pulled back into legalism as their moral framework. Paul corrects this: the Spirit produces what the law could only demand. Walking in the Spirit is a moment-by-moment reliance on the indwelling Holy Spirit, yielding to His promptings rather than suppressing them.
Application: When you feel a fleshly impulse today, pause and pray: "Spirit, lead me now." Practice the discipline of yield — not white-knuckling against sin, but actively walking in step with the Spirit's guidance through the Word.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, lead us every moment. Where flesh rises, may Your fruit abound. Produce in us what law never could. Amen.
