Post #117: Galatians 5:16-17 – Walk in the Spirit | KJV Right Division (Week 5)

Post 117 · Day 30-2: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – Giving Thanks in All Things

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)
Who? Thessalonian church — young believers in persecution.
Dispensation: Grace Age — God's will is clearly stated here for believers.
Key Distinction: "In" everything, not "for" everything — thankfulness in all circumstances, not for all circumstances.

This verse reveals God's will with unmistakable clarity: give thanks in everything. Not necessarily for every circumstance (God does not will evil), but in every circumstance — because His sovereign purpose is always at work. Gratitude is not denial of hardship; it is faith that God is greater than hardship. In the Grace Age, every trial is filtered through the hands of a Father who has already given us His Son.

Application: Begin and end today with a specific list of five things you are genuinely thankful for — include at least one difficulty or challenge. Practice reframing hardship as an opportunity to see God work.

Prayer: Father, thank You — for trials that build us, for grace that sustains us, and for a future secured in Christ. Amen.
