Post #14: The Mystery Revealed to Paul (Eph 3:1-9) | KJV Right Division (Week 1)
Post 14 · The Mystery Revealed to Paul (Eph 3:1-9)
"How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit." — Ephesians 3:3-5 (KJV)
Who? Paul — uniquely appointed steward of the mystery hidden from all previous ages and now revealed.
Dispensation: Grace Age — the mystery defines our dispensation: Jew and Gentile, one Body, equal heirs in Christ.
Key: "Mystery" = something previously hidden, now revealed — not a puzzle but a divine secret disclosed at God's appointed time.

The 'mystery of Christ' revealed to Paul was not merely that Gentiles would be saved (the OT prophets knew that — Isa 42:6; Amos 9:11-12). The mystery was that Jew and Gentile would be joined into ONE BODY, the Body of Christ, on completely equal footing (Eph 3:6). No distinction, no middle wall of partition (Eph 2:14). This was 'kept secret since the world began' (Rom 16:25) — not hinted at in the prophets, not in Moses, not in the Psalms. It was God's eternal purpose, revealed at the appointed time through Paul. This is why Paul's 13 epistles are our primary instruction: we are the administration of the mystery.
Application: Read Ephesians 3:1-9 and Romans 16:25-26 together. List everything described as new, hidden, or previously unrevealed in these passages. Then ask: if this mystery defines your dispensation, how central is Paul's revelation to your daily Bible study?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for revealing through Paul the mystery of the Body of Christ — Jews and Gentiles, one in You. May we never take for granted the fullness of grace we walk in today. Amen.
