Post #142: Daniel's 70 Weeks and the Church Age Gap | KJV Right Division (Week 6)

Post 142 · Day 36-2: Daniel's 70 Weeks and the Church Age Gap

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins..." — Daniel 9:24 (KJV)
Who? Daniel's people = Israel; Daniel's holy city = Jerusalem. This prophecy is not about the Church.
Dispensation: 69 of 70 weeks fulfilled at Christ's first coming; the 70th week (Tribulation) still future.
Gap: The Church Age is the "parenthesis" between the 69th and 70th weeks — unrevealed in the Old Testament.

Daniel 9:24-27 is the backbone of prophetic chronology. The 70 "weeks" (Hebrew: shabuim — sevens) are 70 periods of seven years each = 490 years total, determined upon Israel. 69 weeks ran from Artaxerxes' decree (445 BC) to Messiah's presentation (Palm Sunday). The 70th week — 7 years of Tribulation — awaits Israel's future. The Church Age is the gap between week 69 and 70 — a mystery hidden until Paul (Eph 3).

Application: Study a Daniel 9 timeline chart alongside a newspaper. The gap you live in is not an afterthought — it is the dispensation of Grace. Live it fully while it remains open.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for placing us in the Grace Age gap — the window of Your mercy. Help us use it faithfully. Amen.
