Post #143: Tribulation vs Church Age Suffering | KJV Right Division (Week 6)
Post 143 · Day 36-3: Tribulation vs Church Age Suffering
"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ." — 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV)
Church Age Suffering: Persecution, hardship, trials — normal for believers (Phil 1:29; 2 Tim 3:12).
Tribulation Wrath: God's judicial wrath poured on unbelieving world and apostate Israel (Rev 6-19).
Key Truth: Church Age believers are promised exemption from God's wrath, not from suffering.

The Church is not promised immunity from hardship — Paul suffered greatly. But the Tribulation is specifically described as the "time of Jacob's trouble" (Jer 30:7) and God's wrath poured on unbelievers. The Church is promised exemption from this wrath (1 Thess 5:9, Rev 3:10). This is not "escapism" — it is the consistent testimony of Paul's pre-Tribulation Rapture teaching. We suffer with Christ; we do not endure God's judicial wrath.
Application: Distinguish in your theology between "suffering as a Christian" (normal, expected, Romans 8:17) and "Tribulation wrath" (appointed for Israel and unbelievers, not the Church). This distinction will stabilize your eschatology.
