Post #145: The Judgment Seat of Christ (Bema) | KJV Right Division (Week 6)
Post 145 · Day 37-2: The Judgment Seat of Christ (Bema)
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." — 2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)
Who? "We" — believers, the Body of Christ. This is not for the unsaved.
Dispensation: Grace Age — the Bema judgment follows the Rapture, in heaven, while Tribulation proceeds on earth.
Purpose: Evaluation for reward, not condemnation for sin (Rom 8:1 — no condemnation).

Purpose: Evaluation for reward, not condemnation for sin (Rom 8:1 — no condemnation).
The Bema (Greek for judgment seat, also used of the Olympic judge's platform) is not a trial for salvation — that is settled. It is an evaluation of stewardship. Works will be tested as by fire (1 Cor 3:13-15): some will survive and produce reward (gold, silver, precious stones); others will be burned away (wood, hay, stubble) with the believer saved "yet so as by fire." The question is not "Are you going to heaven?" but "What will you bring with you?"
Application: Live today with the Bema in view. In every decision, ask: "Is this wood and hay, or gold and silver?" Invest in what lasts — souls, Scripture, service — not just temporary things.

Prayer: Lord, help us build with gold, silver, and precious stones — works that survive the fire and bring You glory. Amen.
