Post #153: Signs of the Times Rightly Divided | KJV Right Division (Week 6)
Post 153 · Day 40-1: Signs of the Times Rightly Divided
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." — Luke 21:28 (KJV)
Context: Luke 21 (parallel: Matt 24) — signs given to Israel for the Tribulation, not signs for the Rapture (which is signless).
Right Division: The Rapture is imminent — no signs precede it. Matthew 24 signs are for the Tribulation remnant of Israel.
Application for Church: We can observe the general season, but we do not watch for signs; we watch for Jesus.
Right Division: The Rapture is imminent — no signs precede it. Matthew 24 signs are for the Tribulation remnant of Israel.
Application for Church: We can observe the general season, but we do not watch for signs; we watch for Jesus.
Many sincere believers apply Matthew 24 signs directly to the Church — wars, earthquakes, famines as "signs" of the Rapture. But the Rapture is signless and imminent (no prerequisites). Matthew 24 is Christ's answer to Israel's question about the end of the age and the destruction of Jerusalem. The signs are for the Tribulation remnant to flee and endure. For the Church, the sign is not an event — it is a Person: "Look up, for your redemption draweth nigh."
Application: Stop watching for Rapture "signs" and start watching for Jesus. Live in a state of constant expectancy — not based on world events but based on the character and promise of God.
