Post #157: Rewards in the Kingdom vs Grace Inheritance | KJV Right Division (Week 6)

Post 157 · Day 41-2: Rewards in the Kingdom vs Grace Inheritance

"If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." — 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 (KJV)
Salvation: By grace through faith — not of works (Eph 2:8-9). All believers enter heaven equally on this basis.
Rewards: At the Bema, based on works, faithfulness, and stewardship. Variable — not all believers have equal reward.
Crowns: Crown of life (Rev 2:10), Crown of righteousness (2 Tim 4:8), Crown of glory (1 Pet 5:4), Crown of rejoicing (1 Thess 2:19), Incorruptible crown (1 Cor 9:25).

Every believer is equally saved but not equally rewarded. Salvation is a gift; rewards are earned. The five crowns of Scripture represent different categories of faithful service. Remarkably, the 24 elders in Revelation 4 cast their crowns before the throne — ultimate reward is to honor Christ with what He gave us. This motivates faithful labor not for pride but for the joy of bringing something worthy to lay at His feet.

Application: Research each of the five crowns in Scripture. Determine which crowns correspond to what you are currently pursuing. Are you living in a way that will produce any crowns to cast before the Lord?

Prayer: Lord, help us labor faithfully not for our glory but so we have something worthy to lay at Your feet. May our lives produce gold, silver, and precious stones. Amen.
