Post #159: Gog and Magog in Prophecy | KJV Right Division (Week 6)

Post 159 · Day 42-1: Gog and Magog in Prophecy

"And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him." — Ezekiel 38:1-2 (KJV)
Ezekiel 38-39 Gog/Magog: Pre-Millennial invasion of Israel, likely before or near the start of the Tribulation.
Revelation 20 Gog/Magog: Final rebellion at the end of the Millennium — a different event using the same symbolic name.
Nations: Gog = leader; Magog, Meshech, Tubal = likely modern Russia/Central Asia region (debated).

Two "Gog and Magog" events in Scripture, separated by the entire Millennium. Ezekiel's: a coalition of nations invades Israel when at rest; God supernaturally destroys the invaders, revealing Himself to Israel and the nations. Revelation's: a final demonic deception at Satan's release, immediately crushed by divine fire. Both demonstrate that no human or demonic coalition can withstand God's purposes for Israel.

Application: Study current Middle East geopolitics through the lens of Ezekiel 38-39. Ask: "How does this shape my prayer for Israel and confidence in God's prophetic Word?" Let prophecy strengthen your faith, not feed anxiety.

Prayer: Lord, You alone control the nations. Your purposes for Israel stand immovable. Bring all things to pass according to Your Word. Amen.
