Post #176: Replacement Theology Refuted | KJV Right Division (Week 7)
Post 176 · Day 45-2: Replacement Theology Examined
"God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew." — Romans 11:2 (KJV)
Replacement Theology's Error: Teaching that the Church has replaced Israel in God's plan — that all promises to Israel are now spiritually fulfilled in the Church, and that Israel has no distinct future role.
Right Division Correction: Romans 9-11 is Paul's definitive rebuttal of Replacement Theology — written precisely to correct the idea that God had cast away Israel. "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance" (Rom 11:29). Israel's blindness is partial and temporary. A literal national restoration awaits (Rom 11:26).
Replacement Theology requires wholesale spiritualization of Israel's land, throne, and temple promises — turning literal covenants into metaphors. This hermeneutic, once adopted, has no stopping point and ultimately undermines confidence in the literal fulfillment of any biblical promise. If God "replaced" Israel despite explicit, unconditional covenant promises, what guarantee do we have that He will keep His promises to us?

Prayer: Lord, Your gifts and calling to Israel are irrevocable. Give us the same confidence that Your gifts and calling to us are equally secure. Amen.
