Post #182: Praying to Saints – Right Division | KJV Right Division (Week 7)

Post 182 · Day 47-2: Mary as Co-Redemptrix?

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." — 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
Catholic Doctrinal Error: Teaching that Mary participates in the work of redemption as "Co-Redemptrix" and "Mediatrix of all graces" — elevating her to a co-redemptive role alongside Christ.
Right Division Correction: Scripture assigns redemption exclusively to Christ (1 Pet 1:18-19, Heb 9:12, Rev 5:9) and mediation exclusively to "the man Christ Jesus" (1 Tim 2:5). Mary was a blessed and chosen vessel — but a sinner herself, needing a Savior (Luke 1:47 — "God my Saviour"). She has no post-ascension redemptive role.

To add Mary as a co-redemptrix is to add a second mediator where Scripture allows only one — and therefore to diminish Christ's all-sufficient atoning work. We honor Mary as the instrument God chose to bring the Messiah into the world. But the Grace Age believer prays to God through Christ (Eph 2:18, Rom 5:2), not through any saint or created being. Christ's intercession is perfect, permanent, and sole (Heb 7:25).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the one Mediator, the one Redeemer, the one Way. Thank You that access to God comes through You alone. Amen.
