Post #193: Kingdom Now Theology Examined | KJV Right Division (Week 7)
Post 193 · Day 49-7: Amillennialism vs Premillennialism
"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years." — Revelation 20:2 (KJV)
Amillennialism's Problem: Teaching that the 1,000 years of Revelation 20 is symbolic — the "millennium" is the current Church Age, Satan is "bound" now, and no literal future Kingdom on earth is expected.
Premillennial Correction: Satan is demonstrably not bound now — he is the "god of this world" (2 Cor 4:4), actively deceiving nations (1 Pet 5:8). The 1,000 years of Revelation 20 appear in six consecutive verses — the only hermeneutic that does justice to this repetition is a literal thousand-year reign after Christ's Second Coming.
Amillennialism requires reading Revelation 20 (six references to 1,000 years) as pure symbol while insisting other Revelation passages are literal — an inconsistency. Premillennialism is the natural reading of an already-literal prophetic program: literal Israel, literal covenants, literal Second Coming, literal binding of Satan, literal kingdom. Every prophet spoke of a coming golden age under Messiah's rule — the Millennium is that age.
