Post 199 · Day 50-3: Building Up the Body of Christ

"From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." — Ephesians 4:16 (KJV)

Every Joint Supplies: Every member contributes — no passenger seats in the Body of Christ.
Goal: Edification (building up) in love — the Body growing into the fullness of Christ (v. 13).

The Church is not an audience watching a performance — it is a body where every member has function. "Every joint supplieth" — your gift, your prayer, your encouragement, your generosity, your service — all are joints that supply the Body with what it needs to grow. When members are passive, the body becomes lame. The health of the local church is directly proportional to the engagement of its members.

Application: Identify your spiritual gift (Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4). Then identify one specific way you are currently using it to build up your local assembly. If you're not using it — start this week.
