Post #2: What Is Rightly Dividing the Word? | KJV Right Division (Week 1)
Post 2 · What Is Rightly Dividing the Word?
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." — 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Who? Every believer in the Body of Christ called to handle the Scripture with precision.
Dispensation: Grace Age — we are stewards of the mystery revealed through Paul (Eph 3:1-9).
Key: Rightly dividing = recognizing that all Scripture is FOR us but not all Scripture is TO us or ABOUT us.

Rightly dividing is the interpretive principle that recognizes God has dealt differently with mankind in different ages. The Bible is one Book with one Author, but it addresses multiple audiences: Israel under Law, the Body of Christ under Grace, and nations under coming Kingdom rule. Mixing these produces confusion — binding believers to Old Covenant obligations or robbing them of Grace-Age promises. Sound division produces sound doctrine, and sound doctrine produces sound living.
Application: Take three familiar Bible promises and ask: Is this promise to Israel, to the Church, or to both? Look up Deuteronomy 28, Romans 8, and Revelation 3 and note the differences in audience and conditions.

Prayer: Father, open our eyes to the beautiful architecture of Your Word. Where we have confused audiences and covenants, correct us gently through Your Spirit and Your truth. Amen.
