Post #210: Unity in the Body of Christ (Eph 4:3) | KJV Right Division (Week 8)
Post 210 · Day 54-2: Contending for the Faith
"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." — Jude 3 (KJV)
What to Contend For: "The faith once delivered" — the body of revealed truth, the Gospel, sound doctrine.
How: "Earnestly" — with serious, sustained effort; not casually.
Tone: Jude contends urgently but never cruelly. Truth without love is a clanging cymbal.

Contending for the faith is not optional for mature believers — Jude says it was "needful" to write about it. False teachers were already infiltrating "unawares" (v. 4). The Grace Age is not a time for theological indifference — it is a time for informed, loving, courageous defense of the Gospel against every corruption. This is not belligerence but stewardship — guarding what God has entrusted to the Church.
Application: Study a doctrine that is currently under attack in evangelical Christianity. Equip yourself to defend it clearly and lovingly from Scripture. Then find one opportunity to share that defense this month.

Prayer: Lord, make us gentle and courageous defenders of the faith — holding the Gospel with both hands and hearts open to those who need it. Amen.
