Post #228: Running the Race Set Before Us | KJV Right Division (Week 8)
Post 228 · Day 56-13: The Joy of the Lord as Strength
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." — Philippians 4:4 (KJV)
Context: Paul writes from prison — this is not a command based on circumstances but based on the unchanging character of "the Lord."
Source: Joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22) — supernatural, not circumstantial; "in the Lord," not "in the situation."

"The joy of the LORD is your strength" (Neh 8:10 — a general principle that transcends dispensation). Joy in the Grace Age is not happiness (emotionally based on happenings) but the settled, Spirit-produced delight in who God is and what He has done. Paul writes "alway" — in prison, in pain, in uncertainty. Joy is not the absence of sorrow but a deep undercurrent that runs beneath it. It is the river beneath the storm.
Application: Make a "Joy List" — ten things about God and His grace for which you are deeply grateful. Read this list every morning for one week. Notice what happens to your general emotional and spiritual outlook.

Prayer: Lord, restore to us the joy of Your salvation. Let it be our strength — not dependent on circumstances, but rooted in You. Amen.
