Post 24 · Pauline Epistles: Our Primary Instruction Today
"Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample." — Philippians 3:17 (KJV)
Who? Paul writing to the Philippian church — making the striking claim that his lifestyle is the pattern for Grace-Age believers.
Dispensation: Grace Age — Paul's 13 epistles are the specific instruction for the Body of Christ today.
Key: Paul says "follow me" (1 Cor 11:1; Phil 3:17) because he alone received the full revelation of the mystery by direct revelation from the risen Christ.
Paul's invitation to 'follow me' is not arrogance — it is the recognition of his unique apostolic authority. He received his gospel by revelation (Gal 1:12), not from the Twelve. He was the chosen vessel to complete the Word of God (Col 1:25), revealing the mystery hidden from all previous ages. His 13 epistles — Romans through Philemon — constitute the primary instruction for the Body of Christ today. Other Scripture is profitable and essential for the full counsel of God, but Paul's epistles speak most directly to our dispensation, our standing in Christ, and our walk in grace. This is not elevating Paul above Christ — it is following Christ's own chosen apostle to the Gentiles.
Application: Commit to a 13-week reading plan: one Pauline epistle per week, beginning with Romans. As you read each one, note every verse that describes your identity in Christ, your responsibilities as a member of the Body, and your future hope. Build a personal 'Pauline theology' from the ground up.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Paul — the apostle You chose to reveal the full mystery of the Body of Christ. As we follow Paul as he followed You, make us living examples of grace-transformed lives. Amen.
