Post 240 · Day 58-4: Colossians 1:25-26 – Paul's Dispensation of the Mystery

Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ seeking to understand and live Paul's Gospel rightly divided.
“Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints.” — Colossians 1:25-26 KJV

Paul was made a minister of a specific dispensation — a stewardship of divine truth. The mystery hidden for ages is now made manifest through him. This is not just a biographical note; it defines the structure of biblical revelation and our place in it.

Right Division: Right Division: 'Hid from ages and from generations' — this mystery was not obscured in the Old Testament, waiting to be found by careful readers. It was hidden. Not prophesied, not foreshadowed with full clarity — hidden. Only after the cross, resurrection, and Paul's unique revelation was it disclosed. This is the watershed of right division: recognizing that Colossians 1:26 divides all of Scripture into the 'before' and 'after' of the mystery's disclosure.

Application: Read Colossians 1:24-29 today as Paul's mission statement. Then ask: do I understand this dispensation I live in? Can I explain to a friend why Paul's epistles are our primary authority? This clarity is worth pursuing — it is the difference between spiritual confusion and confident grace-age living.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your Word rightly divided. Help us to study, understand, and live what You have revealed through the Apostle Paul for this age of grace. Give us boldness to share and faithfulness to guard what has been committed to our trust. In Christ's name. Amen.
