Post #251: Approved of God to Be Put in Trust | KJV Right Division (Week 9)

Post 251 · Day 61-3: 1 Thessalonians 2:4 – Approved of God to Be Put in Trust

Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ seeking to understand and live Paul's Gospel rightly divided.
“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but as pleasing God, which trieth our hearts.” — 1 Thessalonians 2:4 KJV

The Gospel is a trust — entrusted to those approved by God. And because God is the One who entrusted it, He is the audience whose approval matters. Pleasing men with a softened, adjusted, people-friendly Gospel betrays the trust. Pleasing God means delivering the message accurately, regardless of reception.

Right Division: Right Division: This verse defines the grace-age minister's accountability structure. Under Law, Israel's leaders were accountable to the Mosaic covenant and its visible blessings and curses. The grace-age minister is accountable to the God who tries the heart — the unseen, internal audit of motive and faithfulness. This is a higher and more demanding standard, not because God is harsher but because He sees everything.

Application: Examine your motives in spiritual conversations: are you telling people what they want to hear or what they need to hear? The Gospel includes both grace and truth. This week, don't soften a hard truth that someone in your life needs to hear. Trust God with their response.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your Word rightly divided. Help us to study, understand, and live what You have revealed through the Apostle Paul for this age of grace. Give us boldness to share and faithfulness to guard what has been committed to our trust. In Christ's name. Amen.
