Post 256 · Day 62-4: Colossians 4:3-4 – Open Door for the Word of the Mystery

Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ seeking to understand and live Paul's Gospel rightly divided.

“Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” — Colossians 4:3-4 KJV

Paul — the apostle of the mystery, the most qualified preacher of his age — prayed for an open door and for the ability to speak clearly. He did not presume on his own ability. He requested prayer. Even the greatest minister of the grace age acknowledged his dependence on God for every opportunity and every word.

Right Division: Right Division: 'The mystery of Christ' is Paul's specific focus — the Body of Christ, Jew and Gentile equal in one body. This is what needed the open door. The Kingdom Gospel was public, backed by miracles and national signs. The mystery Gospel went into the darkness of Gentile ignorance with no national backing, no signs confirming it to unbelievers, only the power of the Word and Spirit.

Application: Add 'an open door for the mystery' to your daily prayers. Pray specifically that God would open conversations where you can share what the grace age means — the mystery, the Body of Christ, the unsearchable riches. And pray for clarity: that you would make it manifest as you ought to speak.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your Word rightly divided. Help us to study, understand, and live what You have revealed through the Apostle Paul for this age of grace. Give us boldness to share and faithfulness to guard what has been committed to our trust. In Christ's name. Amen.
