Post #263: Our Citizenship Is in Heaven | KJV Right Division (Week 10)
Post 263 · Day 64-3: Philippians 3:20-21 – Our Citizenship Is in Heaven
Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ seeking to understand prophecy rightly divided from Paul's epistles and the whole counsel of God.
“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body.” — Philippians 3:20-21 KJV
Conversation means citizenship — our politeuma, our commonwealth, our political home is in heaven. We are heaven's citizens living as ambassadors on earth. And from that heavenly home we look for our Savior to come and transform our lowly bodies into the likeness of His glorified body.
Right Division: Right Division: Israel's hope is earthly — the Kingdom on earth, Jerusalem as capital, Messiah reigning on David's throne. The Body of Christ's hope is heavenly — caught up, transformed, dwelling in heavenly places. These are different destinies for different programs. Ephesians 2:6 says we are already seated in heavenly places in Christ. Our transformation at the Rapture will make that heavenly position a physical reality.
Application: You are a citizen of heaven right now — not waiting to become one. Act like it. When earthly circumstances are discouraging, remember that your citizenship, your home, your hope are all secured in heaven. Nothing that happens on earth can revoke your heavenly citizenship.
Prayer: Lord, open our eyes to behold wondrous things out of Thy law and prophecy. Give us wisdom to rightly divide what belongs to Israel and what belongs to the Body of Christ, that we may live with clarity and confidence in this age of grace. In Christ's name. Amen.
