Post #264: Looking for That Blessed Hope | KJV Right Division (Week 10)
Post 264 · Day 64-4: Titus 2:13 – Looking for That Blessed Hope
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” — Titus 2:13 KJV
The Rapture is called the blessed hope. Not the dreadful event, not the worrying uncertainty — the blessed hope. Grace-age believers look for it with anticipation, not anxiety. It is a glorious appearing: the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ revealing Himself to take His own.
Right Division: Right Division: 'The glorious appearing' here refers to the Rapture — Christ appearing to receive His Body, not His Second Coming to earth in judgment. The context is about grace-age living (verses 11-12): the grace of God teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and godly while looking for the blessed hope. Right division separates Israel's Second Coming hope (a Tribulation-surviving remnant entering the Kingdom) from the Body of Christ's Rapture hope (caught up before the Tribulation).
