Post #285: I Have Set My King upon My Holy Hill of Zion | KJV Right Division (Week 10)
Post 285 · Day 70-1: Psalm 2:6 – I Have Set My King upon My Holy Hill of Zion
Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ seeking to understand prophecy rightly divided from Paul's epistles and the whole counsel of God.
“Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.” — Psalm 2:6 KJV
Despite the raging of nations and the counsel of kings against God (verses 1-2), God declares His response: He has set His King on Zion. Psalm 2 is the enthronement psalm of the Messiah — and it will be literally fulfilled when Christ reigns from Jerusalem in the Millennial Kingdom.
Right Division: Right Division: Psalm 2 belongs to Israel's prophetic program — the Messianic Kingdom, the literal reign of Christ on David's throne. The nations that rage against Christ will be judged; Israel will be restored; the Messiah will reign. Right division does not allegorize Zion into the Church or spiritualize the Kingdom into present grace. Psalm 2:6 awaits literal fulfillment in the Millennium.
Application: God's King is already set — decreed by the Father. Nothing can prevent the fulfillment of Psalm 2. The kings of the earth may rage; the outcome is already declared. Kiss the Son (verse 12) — submit to Him now, in the grace age, while there is still opportunity, rather than meet Him as Judge later.
Prayer: Lord, open our eyes to behold wondrous things out of Thy law and prophecy. Give us wisdom to rightly divide what belongs to Israel and what belongs to the Body of Christ, that we may live with clarity and confidence in this age of grace. In Christ's name. Amen.
