Post 29 · The Age of Grace – When Did It Begin?
"If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward." — Ephesians 3:2 (KJV)
Who? Paul writing to Gentile believers at Ephesus, defining the dispensation he was uniquely commissioned to steward.
Dispensation: Grace Age — began with Paul's commission (Acts 9) and will close at the Rapture.
Key: The Grace Age did not begin at Pentecost (Acts 2) but at the revelation of the mystery through Paul — Acts 9 is the hinge.

Acts 2 (Pentecost) is often called the 'birth of the Church,' but the mystery of the Body of Christ — Jew and Gentile in one body on equal footing — was not revealed at Pentecost. Peter still preached the Kingdom to Israel at Pentecost (Acts 2:36-38; 3:19-21). The full Grace-Age program was revealed through Paul, who received his gospel by direct revelation from the risen Christ (Gal 1:11-12). This does not mean people before Paul were not saved by grace — Abraham was justified by faith (Rom 4:3). It means the specific administration of grace in the Body of Christ, with all its mystery content, began with Paul's apostleship. We are in Paul's dispensation.
Application: Read Acts 9:1-16 — Paul's conversion and commission. Notice God's statement: 'he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles' (v.15). Then read Galatians 1:11-12. What does Paul emphasize about the SOURCE of his gospel? What makes his commission unique compared to the Twelve?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the appointed time of grace — the age in which we live. Thank You for raising up Paul to be its steward and revealing through him the riches of the mystery. Help us to live worthy of this great dispensation. Amen.
