Post #326: Ye Have Need of Patience | KJV Right Division (Week 12)
Post 326 · Day 80-2: Hebrews 10:36 – Ye Have Need of Patience
Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ who desire to finish strong, endure faithfully, and hear "Well done" at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” — Hebrews 10:36 KJV
After doing the will of God — not before, not instead of — comes the need for patience to receive the promise. The sequence is crucial: obedience first, patience second, promise third. The promise does not arrive at the speed of our desire but at the fullness of God's timing.
Right Division: Right Division: Hebrews 10:36 addresses Hebrew believers tempted to abandon their confession under persecution. The principle applies broadly to the grace-age believer: patience (hupomone — endurance, staying under the weight) is the virtue that bridges faithful obedience and received promise. The grace age is an age of faith, not sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Patience is faith extended over time. Endure.
Application: Where are you most tempted to give up on a promise of God? You have done what He asked — and the promise seems delayed. Receive Hebrews 10:36 as your word today: you have need of patience. The promise is coming. The delay is not denial. Endure one more day.
Prayer: Lord, let us not be weary in well doing. Strengthen us by Your Spirit in the inner man. Let us run with patience the race set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Help us to finish strong — not by our strength but by Yours. In Christ's name. Amen.
