Post #336: Present Your Bodies a Living Sacrifice | KJV Right Division (Week 12)
Post 336 · Day 82-4: Romans 12:1-2 – Present Your Bodies a Living Sacrifice
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:1-2 KJV
Romans 12:1-2 is the grace-age altar. The sacrifice is living — you remain alive while offering yourself. The motivation is the mercies of God — all of Romans 1-11's revelation of grace. The outcome is transformation: not external conformity to a code but internal renewal of the mind that reshapes everything from the inside out.
Right Division: Right Division: 'By the mercies of God' grounds the exhortation in grace, not law. The Law said: obey or be cursed. Grace says: because of all God has done for you in Christ, present yourself. The motivation is entirely different — and so is the result. Law-obedience conforms externally; grace-renewal transforms internally. The renewing of the mind is through the Word rightly divided — understanding your identity in Christ changes your behavior more powerfully than any external rule.
