Post 342 · Day 84-2: 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 – Every Man's Work Shall Be Tried

Who This Is For: Grace-age believers in the Body of Christ who desire to finish strong, endure faithfully, and hear "Well done" at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
“Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.” — 1 Corinthians 3:13 KJV

The Judgment Seat fire tests the quality, not just the quantity, of works. The sort — the material, the motive, the foundation — is what the fire reveals. Gold, silver, and precious stones reflect glory; wood, hay, and stubble are consumed. The standard is what it was built on and what it was built for.

Right Division: Right Division: 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 addresses specifically the grace-age believer's ministry works — what was built on the foundation of Christ. The foundation is given (verse 11: no other foundation than Christ). What matters is the superstructure: the quality of ministry, teaching, relationships, stewardship built on that foundation. Right division protects against building the wrong things on the right foundation — kingdom-gospel elements mixed into a grace-age ministry context.

Application: What is the primary material of your current spiritual building — gold, silver, precious stones (eternal, Spirit-motivated, doctrinally sound work) or wood, hay, stubble (temporal, self-motivated, people-pleasing work)? You cannot change what has already been built, but you can change what you build today. Build gold today.
Prayer: Lord, let us not be weary in well doing. Strengthen us by Your Spirit in the inner man. Let us run with patience the race set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Help us to finish strong — not by our strength but by Yours. In Christ's name. Amen.
