Post #4: Dispensations Defined from Scripture | KJV Right Division (Week 1)
Post 4 · Dispensations Defined from Scripture
"That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him." — Ephesians 1:10 (KJV)
Who? The Body of Christ — Paul's primary epistles reveal the dispensational framework most clearly.
Dispensation: Grace Age — but this study covers all dispensations to show God's comprehensive plan.
Key: "Dispensation" (οἰκονομία) = a stewardship or administration; a specific way God governs His dealings with mankind in a given age.

A dispensation is not a salvation plan — it is an administrative arrangement. God has used at least seven major dispensations: Innocence (Eden), Conscience (Adam to Noah), Human Government (Noah to Abraham), Promise (Abraham to Moses), Law (Moses to the Cross), Grace (Pentecost to Rapture), and Kingdom (Millennium). Each has its own responsibilities and tests. Understanding these boundaries prevents us from applying Kingdom commands to Grace-Age saints or Grace promises to Israel under Law.
Application: Read Ephesians 1:10; 3:2; and Colossians 1:25 — all three uses of 'dispensation' in Paul's letters. Write out what each one tells you about God's administrative program and where we fit today.

Prayer: God of all ages, thank You for the clarity of Your plan. Help us to see each dispensation as a chapter in Your unfolding story, and to live faithfully in the chapter we are in. Amen.
