Post #42: Reconciliation – God's Work, Not Ours | KJV Right Division (Week 2)
Post 42 · The Grace of God That Bringeth Salvation (Titus 2:11)
"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world." — Titus 2:11-12 (KJV)
Who? Paul writing to Titus on Crete — grace is not only the basis of salvation but also the teacher of holy living.
Dispensation: Grace Age — grace does two things: it saves and it teaches; neither Law nor fear but grace motivates the believer's walk.
Key: Grace TEACHES — it is not license to sin but the school in which we learn to deny ungodliness and live righteously.

Titus 2:11-12 answers the most common objection to grace: 'If you're saved by grace alone, without works, won't people just sin all they want?' Paul's answer is that grace itself is a teacher — it instructs us toward godliness. The grace that forgives us simultaneously transforms us. It teaches us what to deny (ungodliness, worldly lusts) and what to embrace (sober, righteous, godly living). The motivation is not fear of losing salvation but gratitude for grace received and eager anticipation of Christ's return (v.13 — 'Looking for that blessed hope'). This is the Grace-Age ethic: saved by grace, taught by grace, living for the One who will return in grace.
Application: Read Titus 2:11-14 as a complete unit. Notice: grace appears (v.11), grace teaches (v.12), grace produces waiting (v.13), and Christ gave Himself (v.14). Write a paragraph on why grace produces more holiness than law ever could. What is the motivational difference between 'I must or I'll be punished' and 'I want to because I've been loved this much'?

Prayer: Lord, teach us through Your grace. Not fear but love. Not obligation but gratitude. Let the grace that saved us shape every choice we make, denying what dishonors You and embracing what reflects Your character. Amen.
