Post #48: Election in the Grace Age | KJV Right Division (Week 2)

Post 48 · Prayer in the Grace Age (Phil 4:6)

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." — Philippians 4:6 (KJV)
Who? Paul writing from prison — modeling and teaching Grace-Age prayer: anxiety-free, comprehensive, thankful access to God.
Dispensation: Grace Age — direct, unlimited, immediate prayer access is a Grace-Age privilege; no mediating priest, no appointed feast or hour.
Key: "In every thing" — no topic, no need, no circumstance is outside the scope of prayer in the Grace Age.

Philippians 4:6 defines the scope (everything), the method (prayer and supplication), the attitude (with thanksgiving), and the content (your requests) of Grace-Age prayer. The command 'be careful for nothing' (be anxious about nothing) is only possible because the alternative is so complete: in every thing pray. There is no anxiety so small or crisis so large that prayer cannot address it. The Grace-Age believer has 24/7, unlimited, direct access to the Father through the Son by the Spirit (Eph 2:18) — this is what makes the command to be anxious about nothing possible. The result of comprehensive prayer is the 'peace of God which passeth all understanding' (v.7) standing guard over our hearts.

Application: For one week, implement Philippians 4:6 practically: when any anxiety, worry, or concern arises — immediately pray it out loud (if possible), ending with genuine thanksgiving for God's past faithfulness. Keep a journal of what you prayed and what happened to your anxiety level. Notice what changes when prayer is reflexive rather than occasional.

Prayer: Father, I bring You everything — the large and the small, the spiritual and the mundane, the fears I'm ashamed of and the ones I'm proud to share. In every thing I come. Replace my anxiety with Your peace that passes understanding. Amen.
