Post 55 · The Armor of God (Eph 6:10-18)
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." — Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV)
Who? Grace-Age believers engaged in spiritual warfare — the armor is not for earning God's favor but for standing in what He has already given.
Dispensation: Grace Age — our warfare is spiritual, not physical; our weapons are truth, righteousness, and the Word — all grace-based.
Key: Each piece of armor corresponds to a Grace-Age truth already possessed: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation — all given in Christ; now put on.

The armor of God in Ephesians 6 is built entirely from what has already been established in chapters 1-3. The belt of truth — the truth of our position in Christ. The breastplate of righteousness — the imputed righteousness of Romans 3-4. Shoes of the gospel of peace — the peace with God of Romans 5:1. The shield of faith — faith in the finished work. The helmet of salvation — the assurance of Ephesians 1. The sword of the Spirit — the Word of God, which Paul has spent five chapters unpacking. We don't fight to get into position — we stand in the position Christ has already won. The warfare is real; the weapons are grace.
Application: Read Ephesians 6:10-18 and connect each piece of armor to an earlier passage in Ephesians: (1) belt of truth → 1:13; 4:21, (2) breastplate of righteousness → 4:24, (3) shoes of peace → 2:14-17, (4) shield of faith → 2:8, (5) helmet of salvation → 1:13, (6) sword of the Spirit → the whole letter. How does this armor describe what you already have in Christ rather than what you must earn?

Prayer: Lord, help us to stand — not to climb, not to earn, not to achieve — but to stand in what You have already won. Dress us in Your armor. The battle is real but the victory is already decided. We stand in Christ. Amen.
