Post #67: Hebrews – Written to Hebrew Believers | KJV Right Division (Week 3)
Post 67 · The Prophets Speak of Israel's Restoration (Amos 9:14-15)
"And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God." — Amos 9:14-15 (KJV)
Dispensation: Future Kingdom — this promise exceeds the return from Babylon (Israel was pulled up again in 70 AD) and awaits Millennial fulfillment.
Key: "No more be pulled up" — the key phrase distinguishing this from partial returns (Babylon, Persia); this promises permanent, Millennial restoration.
The Old Testament prophets repeatedly declare Israel's future restoration to the Promised Land. Amos 9:14-15 promises: rebuilt cities, replanted vineyards, and most critically — 'no more shall they be pulled up out of their land.' This cannot refer to the return from Babylon (Israel was subsequently expelled again in 70 AD). It awaits the final, permanent return under Messiah's reign. Isaiah 11:11-12 calls it the 'second' gathering — distinct from the Babylonian return. Ezekiel 37 (the valley of dry bones) describes national resurrection and restoration. The modern return of Jews to the land of Israel since 1948 may be preparatory, but the Amos 9 promise of permanent, secure, Messianic-age restoration has not yet occurred. It will — at Christ's return.
