Romans 6:14 – Not Under Law but Under Grace | KJV Right Division

Week 2 · Day 8-3 · 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”

— Romans 6:14 KJV

Two powerful truths in one verse: sin shall not have dominion, and ye are not under the law but under grace. These are directly connected. Sin has dominion under Law — because Law cannot empower obedience, only expose failure. Grace changes the power dynamic entirely.

✂ Right Division

The Law says do this and live. Grace says it is done — now live. The motivation shifts from fear of condemnation to love for the One who freely justified you. Grace is not the enemy of holiness — it is the only force powerful enough to actually produce it.

✦ Application

You are under grace, not law. Let that truth motivate holy living — not from fear of punishment, but from love for the God who, while you were yet a sinner, Christ died for you — Romans 5:8.
