Signs and Wonders – Which Dispensation Are They For? | KJV
“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:12 KJVSigns and wonders were the signs of an apostle — given to authenticate the apostolic message during the Acts transition period. They were signs to Israel — 1 Corinthians 1:22 — confirming the Kingdom offer was going out. As that period closed, their role diminished.
Paul left Trophimus sick (2 Tim 4:20), advised wine for Timothy's stomach (1 Tim 5:23), and did not heal Epaphroditus miraculously (Phil 2:27). These are not failures — they are dispensational development. The Word, now complete, is our authority — 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
Build your faith on the Word, not on signs. The completed Scripture is sufficient for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction. God still works powerfully — but faith rests on His Word, not on signs as evidence.
