The Lord's Supper – Memorial, Not Sacrifice | 1 Corinthians 11:26 KJV
“For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.”
— 1 Corinthians 11:26 KJVYe do shew the Lord's death till he come. The Lord's Supper is a proclamation — a memorial that looks backward to the cross and forward to His return. Not a re-sacrifice. Not transubstantiation. A memorial, given by Paul by direct revelation — verse 23.
The Mass, which claims to re-present Christ's sacrifice, contradicts Hebrews 10:10 — once for all. One sacrifice. Done. The bread and cup declare that finished work until He comes. This is Paul's grace-age instruction for the Body of Christ.
The next time you take the Lord's Supper, take it with deliberate gratitude — remembering His broken body and shed blood given for you. And look forward: till he come. Every communion is a declaration that the King is coming back.
