The New Covenant – For Israel or the Church? | Jeremiah 31 KJV
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah.”
— Jeremiah 31:31 KJVJeremiah 31 is explicit — the New Covenant was promised to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Not Gentiles, not the Church. Right division shows this is Israel's national covenant, to be fully fulfilled in the Millennial Kingdom.
The Church participates in the blessings of the New Covenant — we have the Spirit, we have forgiveness. But our specific covenant reality is the mystery revealed through Paul: the Body of Christ, equally Jew and Gentile, with heavenly blessings in Christ.
God will fulfill the New Covenant with Israel in completeness. He will fulfill every promise to you as well. The God who cannot lie stands behind every word He has spoken — to Israel and to you.
