Water Baptism in the Age of Grace – Required for Salvation? | KJV
“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.”
— 1 Corinthians 1:17 KJVPaul — the apostle of the grace age — says Christ did not send him to baptize but to preach the Gospel. If water baptism were required for salvation, this statement would be impossible. Paul deliberately placed baptism outside the essential Gospel definition.
In the Kingdom program, Acts 2:38 connects baptism to remission of sins for Israel. In the grace program, Romans 10:9-10 — believe in your heart, confess with your mouth — no water. The thief on the cross was never baptized. Jesus said: today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Water baptism is a beautiful, meaningful public declaration of what Christ has done in you. But it does not save. Faith alone in Christ alone saves — Ephesians 2:8-9. Believe that with settled confidence.
