And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.


흠정역

아버지께서 내게 주신 영광을 내가 그들에게 주었사오니 이것은 우리가 하나인 것 같이 그들도 하나가 되게 하려 함이니이다. 내가 그들 안에, 아버지께서 내 안에 계시나니 이것은 그들이 하나 안에서 완전하게 되게 하려 함이며 세상이 아버지께서 나를 보내시고 그들을 사랑하신 것을 알게 하려 함이니이다.


Christ speaks of glory, love, and oneness. The unity He prays for is not cosmetic. It is rooted in the Son's union with the Father.


✂ Right Division


This prayer looks toward God's purpose through Christ and His own. Right division keeps the setting clear while still letting the passage show us the heart of God: His Son glorified, His people loved, and His testimony made known.


✦ Application


The Father loved the Son, and Christ says the world will know that His own are loved. Let that love quiet rivalry and deepen fellowship.
